Dear Very3 family,
On Saturday, March 14, 2020 we will be performing server maintenance and upgrades to your Very3 hosted instances. Since this will involve some extended downtime on each co-located server, we're splitting the process into stages. The entire process should take no more than 4-5 hours to complete. Other than network route changes in some geographic regions (1-2 minutes) we do not anticipate any downtime for your web sites but since mirroring will be offline across the co-located instances, back-end logins and admin console access (blogs, page editing, applications, etc.) will be unavailable during the upgrade process.
Upgrade timeline:
- Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 AM CDT: We will force all network routes to the co-located server "us-west-2" in Oregon. Once the routes are propagated (5-10 minutes) we will disable fail-over and begin upgrades to the "us-east-1" server in N. Virginia. All back-end user logins and admin console access will be disabled during this process.
- Saturday, March 14, 2020 at ~3:00 AM CDT: Once the "us-east-1" upgrade is complete, we will reverse the process and force all network routes to the newly upgraded server in N. Virginia. Once the routes are propagated (5-10 minutes) we will disable fail-over and begin upgrades to the "us-west-2" server in Oregon. All back-end user logins and admin console access will be disabled during this process.
- Saturday, March 14, 2020 at ~5:00 AM CDT: Once all upgrades are completed, we will sync any changes across both co-located server instances and resume normal routing and fail-over functions. Once the sync process and routing is stable (~15 minutes) we will unlock back-end access. Your site's admin console should be accessible by 6:00 AM CDT.
If you have any questions about this upgrade, your server instance, or other Very3 products and services, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Thanks for your trust,
Mark
